Powerlance was originally founded by Mehrdad and Tanya Zandipour in England in 1982. Mehrdad Zandipour is a qualified engineer specializing in polymer physics. He obtained his degrees in England and ventured to Australia in 1988 where he opened his own factory inventing and creating the Powerlance product range. His goal is to manufacture the best products in the world producing all products within Australia.

Tanya Zandipour has always been in advertising and marketing training at the Institute of Advertising in London. She obtained a PhD in marketing and has worked alongside Mehrdad since the company's inception. She co-ordinates the states of Victoria and Tasmania.
